welcome!

The CDC Garden Project strengthens our commitment to healthier, more self-sufficient communities in Inglewood and LA county by connecting urban gardening with community engagement, nutrition, and active living.

Grand opening

Join us on June 14 as we officially celebrate the grand opening of our new community garden project — a space rooted in wellness, sustainability, education, and neighborhood connection. Made possible through funding support from L.A. Care Health Plan, this project represents a shared investment in healthier communities and accessible green spaces for local families and youth.

This garden was created to be more than just a place to grow food — it is a place to grow opportunity, knowledge, creativity, and community pride. We invite residents, partners, families, and supporters to come celebrate this exciting milestone with us as we open the gates to a space built for the future.

Youth Gardening + Business Workshop

Our Youth Gardening & Business Workshop is designed to introduce young people to both the fundamentals of gardening and the entrepreneurial opportunities connected to agriculture, sustainability, and community development. Participants will learn hands-on gardening skills including planting, maintenance, harvesting, and garden care while also exploring how gardening can evolve into creative business ventures and community leadership opportunities.

Through interactive learning experiences, youth will gain practical knowledge, teamwork skills, environmental awareness, and exposure to entrepreneurship in a fun and engaging environment. This initiative is about planting seeds — both in the soil and in the next generation of leaders and innovators.

tHE CONSTRUCTION PHASE

This project would not have been possible without the incredible dedication, hard work, and vision of the construction crew, volunteers, and community supporters who helped bring this garden to life. From designing and measuring to building, digging, installing, and preparing the space, every contribution helped transform an idea into a meaningful community asset.

We are deeply grateful for every hand that played a role in making this vision a reality. To see behind-the-scenes moments, construction progress, community updates, and the full journey of this project, follow us on Instagram and social media.
