This Small Business Month, the Center of Hope CDC Economic Development Division invites you to join us for our Annual Hope Small Business Expo — a vibrant showcase of local entrepreneurship, creativity, and community impact.

The Expo features both established small businesses and emerging entrepreneurs from across our region. It’s a space for innovation, inspiration, and connection — where ideas grow and community support turns dreams into reality.

Join Us at The Legacy Summit

When: Saturday, November 1 from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Where: The Center of Hope in Inglewood at 9550 Crenshaw Blvd.

What: This event is for anyone who wants to build or protect their generational wealth. Whether you own a home or not, learn how to preserve your assets and keep your legacy in the family.

Here's what you'll find at our Legacy Summit:

• Family Estate Planning. Learn the critical steps needed to safeguard your assets. You can also make an appointment with an estate planning attorney to get your family estate planning journey started.

• Disaster Resources. If you are a survivor of the LA wildfires, a host of resources is available to you to help support your rebuild and recovery needs.

• HOPE Homebuyer & Real Estate 101 Workshop. Learn critical steps needed to buy a home, from local real estate experts.

• Don't Move, Improve! Increase the value of your home by repairing and rehabilitating your property. Learn about ADUs and how they can help you care for your family as you build generational wealth together.

• Small Business Workshop. Resources and support for small business owners will be the main topic. How do you make sure your business grows well into the future?

About Light the Night

Light the Night is an annual free community festival on October 31st hosted by The Center of Hope Community Development Corporation (COHCDC) in Inglewood, California. Designed to provide a safe, family-friendly environment, this event serves as a major community engagement initiative, fostering unity, local economic support, and social connection.

About the Game:

The Hope Professional Collective is launching its inaugural event: 4Connection

4Connection is a fast paced, structured ice breaking social event that allows professionals to connect with at least 4 professionals in a short amount of time through a series of brief one-on-one conversations prompted by a question. 

The purpose of this game is to encourage open and natural dialogue, and cultivate meaningful connections among professionals at Center of Hope Church. Think of yourself as a walking treasure trove—full of knowledge, experiences, stories, wisdom, resources, networks, and insights—that can bless and inspire the personal and professional lives of your fellow congregants. Our hope is that you leave this exercise with something valuable to carry you through the week and the month of October.

Here’s how to play!

Registering:

• Pre-register by NOON, Saturday, September 27. We encourage registering before game day. [Registration Form]

• Same-day registration is available at the CDC table before each service only. No registrations will be accepted after service.

• During registration, you’ll select your industry and be assigned a color category: Green, Blue, Orange, Red.

• On Sunday, September 28:

  • Before each service, visit a satellite table to sign in and receive your colored name tag and a matching question card.

• Choose a session:

  • Session A: immediately after early service

  • Session B: immediately after late service

The Rules of the Game:

1. Meet in the garden after service — the game begins immediately!

2. Goal: Find 4 people in your color category and ask your card question.

3. On the back of your card:

   • Write their names

   • Write your name & phone number (clearly, please!)

4. Once you’ve met 4 people, drop your card in the raffle box at the CDC table.

5. Prizes!

   • Winner will be drawn from the raffle.

   • You don’t need to be present — we’ll contact you.

6. The game ends with the Gamemaster’s closing speech.

Fueling Emerging Entrepreneurs (FEE) is a grant initiative developed by LISC LA in partnership with BMO and Center of Hope CDC, designed to support the growth, resilience, and sustainability of small businesses across Los Angeles County. The program focuses on entrepreneurs located in under-resourced communities—especially those who have historically faced barriers to accessing capital—and aims to increase their ability to grow, compete, and contribute to local economic ecosystems.
